Stuart Major

Stuart Major lives and works in South Oxfordshire and as such has direct experience of the lack of affordable housing. He is a director of fresh air theatre, an innovative Oxfordshire based theatre company producing works focusing on social and environmental issues including healthy eating, sustainable transport, and climate change. Previously,
Stuart established regional teams of street campaigners persuading members of the public to join Friends of the Earth.

More recently, he was also a founder member and Chairman of the True Food Community Cooperative Ltd., Reading´s only community owned retailer of organic food. He instigated and managed a partnership project with West Berkshire PCT to share skills in nutrition and cooking with people in less affluent areas of the town. He is also a director of Oxfordshire Wood Heat Ltd., an installer of biomass heating systems.
He has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Diploma in Acting, as well as PGCE in Physics.
