Get involved

You can become a member, donate to us, and volunteer.

Become a member

As a Community Benefit Society, we are proud to be owned by our members. We are currently owned by a group of over 100 people from across the county of Oxfordshire.

You can become a member by completing this form. As a member you can have a say and support OCLT by attending and voting at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), as well as standing for election to the board of directors. We also welcome members to get more involved in the organisation through volunteering their time.

Membership is open to any individual 18 or over or any organisation. To become a member you buy a £1 share which entitles you to a single vote in the company. The £1 is the limit of personal liability.

Donate to us

You can help us to continue our pioneering work by giving us either a regular donation (monthly or yearly) or a one-off donation. Or, if you're feeling especially generous, you could even donate some property to us (or sell it to us at a discount) – in which case please contact us

OCLT has a small income from rents. But it will be some time before this is significant. Until then, we remain a small, mostly voluntarily-run organisation that relies on grants and generous donations to maintain our year-to-year operational costs.

We know that many people feel powerless in the face of the extreme housing need and lack of affordability. One way for you to change that is to support OCLT. This will allow us to shift the narrative about land ownership and move closer to the creation of a parallel community-owned and -led system of permanently affordable housing in Oxfordshire.

Volunteer

We are thrilled that our volunteer community continues to grow. If you have experience or enthusiasm that you'd like to contribute to OCLT, why not volunteer yourself?

All sorts of skills and experience are useful, including IT, administration, financial, fundraising, legal, surveying, architectural, photography, illustration and digital design skills, as well as experience of organisational development and governance, community engagement, and housing development and management.

Let us know if you can contribute a few hours to help OCLT grow. If you complete our form here with a few details (you'll need to download it) – or just get in touch by emailing info@oclt.org.uk to talk about how you may be able to help – we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
