Remembering Jonathan Miller

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our much-valued colleague and friend, Jonathan Miller, passed away on Friday 9 October.

Jonathan was a dedicated and deeply committed member of Oxfordshire Community Land Trust. As both a Director and Development Manager, he brought considerable knowledge, experience and determination to our work, particularly in progressing the Blackbird Leys affordable housing developments at Balfour Road and Pegasus Road.

Jonathan cared deeply about OCLT's mission and worked tirelessly to turn ambitious plans into reality. His persistence and dedication were instrumental in moving these projects forward, helping bring the prospect of much-needed, permanently affordable homes for local people closer to fruition.

Beyond his professional contribution, Jonathan was a genuinely kind, fair and thoughtful person, generous with his time and support. He consistently went above and beyond, particularly during difficult times, and brought warmth, care and humanity to his working relationships. It was a privilege to work alongside him.

Reflecting on their friendship and time working together, Fran Ryan shared:

"I shall miss his voluble and valuable contributions at our meetings and will be forever grateful that he succeeded in getting OCLT's second housing project to a significant point."

The many heartfelt messages from colleagues and partners reflect the respect and affection in which Jonathan was held. We hope that continuing the projects he worked so hard to progress will be a fitting part of his legacy.

Outside of OCLT, Jonathan was a passionate supporter of Luton Town Football Club. We are grateful to his mother, Jackie, for sharing this lovely photograph of him with players from his beloved team.

Jonathan will be greatly missed for his dedication, kindness, friendship and generosity of spirit. Our heartfelt thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

If you would like to share any memories or words of remembrance, please contact Alison Matthias, currently acting as Chair, who will be happy to pass your messages on to Jonathan's family.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out with such kindness and support.

With warmth, affection and gratitude, from all of us at OCLT.
